Drum Meditation

Mystic drummer Neil Peart of the band Rush has posted a recording of his drums only from an instrumental on their new album, Snakes & Arrows.

Listen to the track, close your eyes and see where the rhythm, dynamics, pauses and silence lead.

A-fing-Mazing! You're so right about the use of silence. That was surprising.

That ain't no drum machine!

My DH is wondering if someone else has already recorded something to that track.

Layla- yes, he's the greatest.

celeste, I know. I wouldn't doubt it if some hasn't laid down something to/ with the tracks.

Silence speaks volumes in the right hands... and when we allow its freedom.

Nice. One of the best. Danny Carey might be the only one right now in the rockish arena ('cause there's a lot of 90 year old jazz drummers that would blow 'em out of the water) that's better.

Maybe it was the Mac, but I didn't get to a place where I could play something. But that's okay.

Looking forward to your next post...
