For Lance

I know Lance-

no longer in need of body,
seen everywhere and free...

mingling where there are angels,
where there is morning mist,
ocean wave and mountain breeze,
where there is starry night,
when time reveals secrets,
how God, she works her mysteries,
giving and giving and giving even more,

she gives us Lance Livesay-everywhere we look now,
and I am thankful for this fullness.

In memory of Lance Livesay, friend and associate minister of Unity Louisville, who left his body on June 4th and is now to be found everywhere, and in all things.

This is beautiful, so beautiful.

This precious friend is lingering everywhere now, in each moment, given by divine mystery...

Gratitude fills us.

What a beautiful tribute to your friend, Lance.

And to God.

And to the mysterious, wonderful Universe "where there are angels."

I just read of Lance's passing today, 29 December '05, in the Berea College Alumni Magazine. I couldn't believe it. I knew him in college and he was a *light.* Loving, kind, good, fun, and funny as hell. The Great Beyond is all the better for his presence. Oh, Lance, I know it is wonderful wherever you are. Many blessing to you.

I read about Lance leaving us in the same alumni magazine. It was by chance that I saw it. I had to look twice because Lance was not an old guy.

Lance and I entered the art dept. at the same time when we were attending Berea College. In fact, he and I were finishing up our portfolios so that they could be in the Art office in time for the formal faculty review. We were both nervous and tired from days staying up getting every detail right. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

This is a very beautiful poem and a fitting dedication to Lance and God. I attended Berea College with Lance. We lived in the same dorm (Dana)and roomed across the from each other. Lance was perhaps the most memorable person from my college days. Very, very funny and many times over the top with his humor. When I learned of his passing in the Berea College Alumni Magazine I was floored.Even though we lost track of each other over the years I thought of him often. He was a good and thoughtful person. I shall miss him.
