Autumn

My friend Ethan took this picture and I have to say....it captures the essence of Fall. The temperature fell into the high 50's this morning here in the South Carolina Lowcountry- a welcome change.

Can you feel the magic in the air?

Gorgioso! We went on a walk like that yesterday outside of Cinci. Loved the colors.

What a nice photo.

Can you feel my excitement to be in the lowcountry next month?... cause in all truth, if you can talk my husband into moving, I'm totally game.

AHHHHH... Fall my favorite time of year.

And just think TC in one week we will all be in the high country. From what I have heard, this is going to be one of the best color displays in years.

I know I always leave long posts but I felt my poem "As the Seasons Change" was very appropriate.

I paddled my boat today

Until my heart felt it would burst
Until my arms trembled like a newborn
Until my temples pounded in disapproval

I paddled my boat today
Until my body demanded that I stop.

I sat on a rock today and looked……

At deep blues and pale grays
That rippled across the water
Reflected back at me and
Streaming from the sky

I strolled along the bank today and heard……

The constant static
Of water slipping over rocks
Blended with
The chirps and whispers
As nature conversed

I relaxed on an island today and felt…..

The sharp sting of an
Early fall wind as it
Battled the persistent haze
From the summer’s memories

I looked up today and breathed…..

In the scent of change
As it drifted by
Its passage marked
Only by white
Fluffy seed pods
Sentinels
Heralding in
The new season
.
